Yes, we are still taking photos!

This time in Devon using some students from the Pollyanna Buckingham studios as well as photos of all of us so you get to know us all!

Last week Jillian, Emily and I were in London for a brilliant CatEx event. We all learned so much and met so many interesting people from this round table event.

The highlight of the day was the ECMOD awards in the evening. We knew we had been shortlisted so the tension mounted as the evening progressed.

We need not have worried as we were the recipients of the award for best catalogue and web business in our B2B category!

Here we are receiving our award from the sponsor, Kim Michael from Citipost and Dermot Murnaghan.

More exciting news for IDS this week as we are shortlisted again for an ECMOD Direct Commerce Award. It is a great achievement to be on the shortlist and has been helped by the strong performance of the business and amazing feedback from our customer survey. TV presenter Dermot Murnaghan will present trophies to the winner in each category on the evening of 6th April at the Lancaster London Hotel. The event will see the most successful companies from all areas of the multi-channel sector receive their deserved recognition in front of an audience comprised of the industry’s leading lights. Please wish us luck!

On Friday 11^th March IDS presented Ken Walker from the Brain & Spine Foundation www.brainandspine.org.uk with a cheque for an amazing £4000! 

The Brain & Spine Foundation was IDS’ Charity of the Year 2010, they provide information and support for anyone affected by neurological conditions.  Throughout the year everyone became very involved in some fantastic fundraising activities including sponsored half-marathon races, fancy dress days, sweepstakes and tombolas and even a summer fete!

Our Charity of the Year until August 2012 is ShelterBox www.shelterbox.co.uk

They are an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide.  Fundraising has already begun – look out for more updates throughout  the year!

Here at IDS we try and limit all waste and always recycle as much as we can. Because of the paper we recycled in 2010 we are very proud that we saved almost 23 trees from destruction.

Always remember to recycle all boxes you receive from us as well as last years catalogue.

Yesterday saw myself, Ian, Andrew, Kate and Ami at the IDTA London meeting to launch their new recommended uniform. There is a selection of IDTA logoed leotards, skirts and tights suitable for all theatre branches as well as jazz pants and T shirts for all ages and branches.
We had four delightful models who helped us present to both the theatre and ballroom events. Here they are with their teacher Amand Restill.

Laura and Ami attended the ISTD’s Disco Freestyle and Rock and Roll conference on Sunday. IDS have exhibited for many years, but was the second year that Ami took part in the classes which she thoroughly enjoyed. Highlight of the day was learning the Thriller routine with Gary Lloyd - Choreographer and Director of Thriller Live. Laura was on hand to give advice and promote IDS, also handing out the ever popular goody bags to over 150 guests.

How exciting! For the first time ever International Dance Supplies is exhibiting in Atlanta as part of the UDMA Dance Resource and Costume Show.

Our USA advisor Carrie Molay will be on the booth and she very much looks forward to meeting you there and handing out some of our fabulous goodies. Have a great show!

IDS makes a series of star turns in true theatrical style and joins the social calendar of the South West’s must have magazine… Devon Life.  Britain’s celebrity dance master, Wayne Sleep, led the way with Anne Walker on a whistle stop tour of IDS’s headquarters for its 2010 Catalogue launch… yet taking the time to sign autographs was much appreciated by IDS’s customers, family and friends alike.
