Here we are at our first ever International Dance Teachers’ Conference launching our 2011 Diamond Book.
The evening was rounded off with an incredible Gala Performance including Sarah Lamb’s ‘Dying Swan’ and our special guests from a top UK talent show!
The delegates are having a fabulous time, joining in dance classes with stars such as Steven McRae, Lizzie Gough and Anton Du Beke.
Three of my team are at our Reprographic house this week checking the final proofs of the new catalogue before they go to print.

Last night, Ian and I took a group of long serving members of staff and their partners out to supper. We had a lovely evening and it was great to be able to celebrate their many years of devotion to IDS as well and to say thank you to those who have supported them during this time.
They had a staggering 200 years of service to our customers between4 them! If you the add the 66 years Ian and I have also jointly devoted to the company it is a pretty amazing record.

Last week Jillian, Emily and I were in London for a brilliant CatEx event. We all learned so much and met so many interesting people from this round table event.
The highlight of the day was the ECMOD awards in the evening. We knew we had been shortlisted so the tension mounted as the evening progressed.
We need not have worried as we were the recipients of the award for best catalogue and web business in our B2B category!

More exciting news for IDS this week as we are shortlisted again for an ECMOD Direct Commerce Award. It is a great achievement to be on the shortlist and has been helped by the strong performance of the business and amazing feedback from our customer survey. TV presenter Dermot Murnaghan will present trophies to the winner in each category on the evening of 6th April at the Lancaster London Hotel. The event will see the most successful companies from all areas of the multi-channel sector receive their deserved recognition in front of an audience comprised of the industry’s leading lights. Please wish us luck!
On Friday 11th March IDS presented Ken Walker from the Brain & Spine Foundation www.brainandspine.org.uk with a cheque for an amazing £4000!
The Brain & Spine Foundation was IDS’ Charity of the Year 2010, they provide information and support for anyone affected by neurological conditions. Throughout the year everyone became very involved in some fantastic fundraising activities including sponsored half-marathon races, fancy dress days, sweepstakes and tombolas and even a summer fete!

They are an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. Fundraising has already begun – look out for more updates throughout the year!
Here at IDS we try and limit all waste and always recycle as much as we can. Because of the paper we recycled in 2010 we are very proud that we saved almost 23 trees from destruction.
Always remember to recycle all boxes you receive from us as well as last years catalogue.
Yesterday saw myself, Ian, Andrew, Kate and Ami at the IDTA London meeting to launch their new recommended uniform. There is a selection of IDTA logoed leotards, skirts and tights suitable for all theatre branches as well as jazz pants and T shirts for all ages and branches.
We had four delightful models who helped us present to both the theatre and ballroom events. Here they are with their teacher Amand Restill.
